BusSeat.lk is an online platform connecting you with various bus operators in Sri Lanka. We simplify booking bus
tickets by aggregating information and facilitating purchases. By using our website or mobile apps, you agree to
these terms and conditions.
2.Information Accuracy
While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information displayed on our platform, we cannot
guarantee that all details, including rates, availability, and other information provided by bus service
providers, are completely correct. Bus service providers are responsible for updating their information.
3. User Accounts:
- Account Creation: You may create a user account to manage your bookings and preferences.
This is only available in our mobile apps, not in our website.
- Password Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
password.
4. Booking and Tickets
- Search & Selection: Find your desired bus route, date, and seat using our search tools.
- Booking Process: Complete your booking by selecting a bus, seats, and processing payment
securely through our authorized payment gateway.
- Confirmation: Upon successful payment, you'll receive a confirmation email and SMS with
your ticket details. These details might be slightly delayed due to technical reasons or incorrect user
information. However, a valid ticket will be reflected on your BusSeat.lk confirmation page.
- Ticket Validity: Your ticket is valid only for the specific bus service, date, and time
mentioned in your confirmation.
- Boarding Requirements: Present a printed or digital copy of your ticket and a valid ID at
the boarding point.
- Boarding Points: Ensure you arrive at the correct boarding point as specified in your
confirmation.
5. Payments and Safety
- Accepted Payments: We accept credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers (though bank
transfers may involve delays). All transactions are processed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR).
- Fees: We charge a service fee on top of the bus fare to maintain our platform.
- Payment Security: We use a secure, Central Bank of Sri Lanka authorized payment gateway for
your safety. Refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellation fees vary depending on the bus operator and cancellation
time. Details are displayed during booking.
- Refund Methods: We process refunds to any Sri Lankan bank account you provide.
Unfortunately, partial refunds to your original payment method are not yet supported.
- Processing Time: Allow 7 business days for your refund to be processed.
7. Changes to Bookings
Currently, we cannot modify existing bookings. You can cancel your current booking and rebook with the desired
changes using the wallet credit received from the cancellation.
8. Our Responsibilities
- Issuing valid tickets for our partnered bus operators.
- Providing customer support regarding booking, delays, and cancellations.
- Facilitating refunds for eligible cancellations.
9. Our Responsibilities Do Not Include
- Actions of bus operators like delays, staff behavior, or seat changes.
- Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage.
- Changes in boarding points or pick-up vehicles by bus operators.
- Issues arising directly from the bus operator (delays, cancellations, staff behavior, etc.)
10. Travel and Boarding
- Boarding Points: You can choose your boarding point during booking. Please ensure you're
familiar with the location before selecting it.
- Baggage Allowance: Typically, each bus allows one piece of luggage and a small carry-on
item. Specific details might vary by operator.
- Bus Delays and Cancellations: The bus operator will notify you in advance in case of delays
or cancellations. In case of cancellation, you'll receive a full refund if you haven't traveled.
- Real-time Bus Tracking: This feature is currently unavailable. For live updates, contact
the bus operator directly using the provided details.
- Wheelchair Accessibility: Since buses are operated by different companies, wheelchair
accessibility cannot be guaranteed. However, most buses do not have this feature.
- Pets: Pets are not allowed on the bus to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
11. Communication
- You agree to receive booking updates via SMS to your provided number. We might also send occasional SMS
alerts or calls for updates, feedback, or marketing purposes. BusSeat.lk is not responsible for non-delivery
or delays due to mobile service provider issues.
- We are not responsible for any delays or errors in communication beyond our control.
- Report any grievances related to your journey within 10 days of your travel date to our support team.
12. User Conduct
By using BusSeat.lk, you agree to use our platform responsibly and refrain from any illegal or harmful
activities.
13. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on the BusSeat.lk website are owned by BusSeat.lk or its
licensors. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
14. Limitation of Liability
- BusSeat.lk's liability is limited to the ticket amount you paid. We are not liable for any indirect,
incidental, or consequential damages.
- We strive to provide accurate information but cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of details
provided by bus operators.
- We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or changes made by the bus service provider.
15. Privacy
Please refer to our separate privacy policy for details on how we collect and use your information
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions
shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.
